About Me
I received both my BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic). My research path has been circling around many topics, starting from manufacturing and production, to dynamcis and vibration analysis, and now optimization-based control.
My MSc research was on design and implementation of a soft robot for hand rehabilitation. There I developed both a design framework using Finite Element Analysis and a continuum-based analytical model for a soft bending actuator.
Currently, I'm a PhD candidate at Delft Center for Sytems and Control. My research is funded by the Dutch research council (NWO) within the project EVOLVE, which aims at proactive and model-based control of automated driving systems during safety-critical aggressive evasive maneuvers. My role in the project is to develop a computationally-efficient predictive control design that predicts as accurate as it can, and controls as fast as possible. In other words, we are trying to see how far we can go in optimizing the automated response to danger while proving safety.
In my free time I read about sociopolitical issues, as I enojoy nonlinarity in all its forms. I also watch movies, do street/portrait photography, cook, do pole fitness/dance, and swim. I can speak Persian (Farsi), Arabic (Iraqi), English, and I'm learning Dutch.
